Times of Contempt

Times of Contempt is a series that examines the presence of anger and resentment in our everyday lives. Each sculpture, from plaster versions with patina finishes to raw clay, captures a fleeting moment where hostile emotion becomes visible. How do we arrive at these charged states? Are they formed by our past, or do they emerge from cultural forces we cannot fully see? The works invite reflection on how bitterness or contempt can arise from both personal and collective pain. By freezing these intense feelings in physical form, this series asks viewers to consider whether such moments might also reveal something more universal about our shared vulnerability and the ways we all struggle to remain open and alive in a world that often seems consumed by conflict.
